Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Perseroan Terbatas East West Seed Indonesia (Ewindo) produsen benih sayuran hibrida tropis Cap Panah Merah memperkenalkan cara baru budi daya bawang merah lebih hemat biaya.

"Lazimnya biaya budi daya bawang merah sebesar Rp45 juta per hektare. Maka, melalui cara baru ini hanya Rp10 juta per hektare," kata Asep Harpenas, Direktur Penelitian dan Pengembangan Ewindo saat dihubungi, Senin.

Asep mengatakan bahwa perusahaan telah memperkenalkan benih bawang merah varietas "tuktuk" kepada petani di Bima, Nusa Tenggara Barat.

Melalui cara baru ini biaya produksi, khususnya untuk pengadaan bibit, bisa ditekan dari Rp45 juta per hektare hanya menjadi Rp10 juta per hektare, jelas dia.

"Ewindo terpanggil untuk ikut mendorong produktivitas dan menciptakan pertanian efektif bagi petani dengan mengenalkan cara baru budi daya bawang merah melalui `biji`. Kami berharap dengan dikenalnya cara baru ini akan membuat kesejahteraan petani lebih meningkat," ujar Asep.

Lebih lanjut Asep menerangkan bahwa dengan menggunakan benih bawang merah varietas tuktuk petani akan mendapatkan tiga keuntungan.

Pertama, biaya produksi lebih rendah. Jika menggunakan sistem konvensional setiap hektare lahan memerlukan sekitar 1,5 ton umbi dengan biaya di kisaran Rp45 juta, sedangkan jika menggunakan metode "pindah tanam" hanya memerlukan 5 kilogram benih dengan biaya sekitar Rp10 juta.

Kedua, biaya transportasi dengan metode baru lebih murah.

Ketiga, benih bisa lebih lama disimpan dalam storage (maksimal dua tahun) selama tidak terkena sinar matahari. Sementara, dengan sistem konvensional, umbi hanya bisa disimpan antara 2--4 bulan.

Selain itu, cara baru budi daya bawang merah dengan menggunakan biji memiliki keunggulan, yakni lebih sedikit terserang penyakit karena benih tidak membawa bulb borne disease, seperti virus dan jamur.

Pemakaian pupuk pun lebih efisien. Hanya dengan menggunakan dosis pupuk setengah dari kebutuhan pupuk dengan metode penanaman konvensional, produksi bawang merah tetap tinggi.

Bahkan, hasil panen tuktuk bisa mencapai 20--25 ton per hektare, lebih tinggi dibanding teknik budi daya konvensional yang hanya bisa menghasilkan 8--12 ton per hektare.

Bima sendiri memiliki potensi budi daya bawang merah yang relatif cukup tinggi, yakni lahan atau area tanam mencapai sekitar 12.000 hektare, namun yang ditanami baru sekitar 7.000 hektare.

Kondisi tanah dan iklim di Bima juga sangat mendukung pertumbuhan bawang merah secara optimal. Produksi bawang merah dari Bima selama ini dikirimkan, antara lain, ke Bali, Jawa, dan Sulawesi.

Bukan hanya mengenalkan budi daya bawang merah melalui biji, Ewindo juga memberikan pelatihan persemaian bawang kepada petani.

Pelatihan itu diikuti oleh sekitar 30 orang petani yang berasal dari Bima dan sekitarnya. Diharapkan dengan adanya pelatihan ini petani tidak hanya mendapatkan informasi, tetapi memahami dan merasakan sendiri keuntungan menggunakan cara baru ini.

"Pengenalan cara baru budi daya bawang merah ini merupakan sumbangsih kami dalam memacu pertumbuhan dan kemajuan bidang agroindustri, khususnya budi daya hortikultura di Indonesia. Kami berharap dengan pengenalan cara budi daya ini mampu mendorong peningkatan kesejahteraan petani bawang merah, khususnya di Bima," kata Asep.

- Nah, sekarang tinggal mencari file ISO di folder Make_pe3\winpe3_x86 dan menjadikannya USB bootable Windows 7 live atau di-burn ke CD atau DVD.

Creating a Live CD Using Make_PE3 (Without AIK):

Make_PE3 is a free program that allows you create a Windows 7 Live CD without the automated installation kit (AIK). You can create a Live CD by using AIK, but the process is too tedious for normal users.
After you have downloaded Make_PE3, double-click the setup file. This will automatically run the self-extracting archive. Set the destination path to the “C:” drive. It doesn’t always have to be “C:” drive. If you are using a different partition, it might a different drive letter. It just has to be letter of the drive you are currently using (the main drive, where your Windows OS is installed).



Access the “Make_PE3” folder and double-click the “Make_PE3” executable (.exe) file. This will launch the installation wizard.
Now you need to mount the Windows 7 ISO file. Browse t the location of the ISO file. The ISO must also be located in the C: drive or the drive where you’ve installed the Windows OS.



Now click “Go” to create your Live CD. After it’s done, you will find the ISO file of the Live CD inside the “Win7Pe” sub-folder inside the “Make_PE3” folder.

Once the Live CD is created you can use it to recover your files from a crashed PC or disinfect your PC from a malware infection.

Creating a Live CD Using WinBuilder:

WinBuilder is another program you can use to create a Windows 7 Live CD. However, you will need AIK.
Before starting, you need to download all of the scripts and plug-ins. Make sure to download the “Complete” set of scripts. The download link is at the end of this article.

Now go the “Source” tab, and mount the ISO file of the Windows 7 setup disc.

Now click the “Play” button to create the Live CD:
